2026 Spring ADV kickoff

Hey ADV crew, are you having withdrawals from not riding? Tired of staring at your bike sitting there in the garage ? This ride is for you, pull off that dirty old sheet that has kept your bike warm through the winter and join myself, Steve Vandenhoak and anyone else that has a roadworthy bike to kickoff the 2026 riding season.

THIS IS WILL BE AN ADVENTURE STYLE RIDE. No single track, no two track, all bike sizes can ride this route. Pavement/ Gravel/Bad Gas Station coffee

WEATHER DEPENDENT - I will cancel this ride if the temps at meet-up time are less than 30F, a concern for rain/snow with temps under 38F as ice can form, or if we have had any ice, snow or Rain in the week leading up to the event. PLEASE keep an eye on the "DISCUSSION" tab for changes in details or event statuses.

We will be meeting at the Windsor fairgrounds in Windsor Mo off Hwy 52.

1.) TIME: A 5 min Rider Meeting / Group Rides Instructions will be held at 10:00 am and Kick Stands Up / Depart at 10:10.

Plan on 5 hours for ride and stop - approx. We will LEAVE AT 10:10am. Finish time between 2:30pm & 3:00pm. If you have questions you would like to ask before the ride - please arrive early or text me.

2.) ROUTE: The goal is to leave Windsor and ride the loop from Windsor, montrose lake to Lowry city for fuel, snacks, Coffee. Then from Lowry city to mount zion then cross the lake and ride through a small conservation ground then into Calhoun & back to Windsor. Should be around 140 miles. I will be posting the route files as soon as I have it 100% confirmed.

This route is primarily gravel roads. If gravel road riding isnt your thing - sorry that’s what we have to ride in this area. Please be mindful of your speed on said gravel ( especially coming into corners ) as it can be like riding on marbles. Let’s enjoy the ride and fellowship and leave the ER visit for more gnarly rides.

3.) FOOD- Bring some snacks and drinks as we will not be stopping for lunch as we will be starting so late. You can grab food in Windsor there is a small grocery store and a Casey’s.

4.) NO WATER CROSSINGS - this route doesn’t have any water crossings. There is a bridge in the conservation ground that is no longer used for vehicles but can be crossed by bike.

5.) LENGTH - The route takes around 3-4 hours depending on the pace and the frequency of stops for snacks or downed bikes. Feel free to quit early or leave the group at any time. There are plenty of outs along the way with pavement back to Windsor or wherever your headed - but please let someone know if you split early.

6.) PARKING - we will be meeting at the Windsor fairgrounds where there is plenty of parking for trucks and trailers.

There is also a small hotel and campground located in Windsor if you would like to arrive the night before. Txt me if you’re interested in this and I will share details.

7.) GEAR / EXPECTATIONS - You will be asked to leave if you don't have shoes that protect your ankles, riding gloves that protect your hands, and at least a 3/4 helmet. The rest of your gear is a personal choice and risk - but please don't ruin our day because you don't want to wear protective gear. If you need some gear and can't afford it - reach out and we will most likely be able to find someone with extra pants or a jacket they would share with you for the ride.

I don't care what bike you ride as long as it can go 55 mph and is street legal.

This route is primarily gravel and very little highway - so make sure your tires can handle both.

Lastly - DO NOT show up if you haven't made sure your bike is reliable and maintained. We will help anyone who needs help due to an accident, mishap, or unfortunate circumstance - but if it is clearly the result of poor maintenance or the result of being unprepared based on what I have outlined above - you will not be invited back. A lack of maintenance and unsafe equipment will not be tolerated.

8.) RISK - if you show up - you understand and agree to the following: a.)This is an "at your own risk" event. b.) you are responsible for abiding by all federal, state, and local laws. c.) you are here to spend time with and/or make new friends - and not as part of an official "event" despite the Facebook title. d.) you will hold no other rider in the group responsible for your actions.

9.) QUESTIONS: Text/ Call me if you have any questions. We will not wait to depart, but you can connect with us and I am happy to share my location via if you need. My number is (660) 441-2704 ~ Zach
